R and I were awoken at 6:45 am to something that felt like a huge truck rolling past our house. Except there was no truck and it lasted longer than a truck's wake. We were looking at each other as it completed its course, and then R said, "What the hell was that? An earthquake?" I just got online and found this.... From the USGS: The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: A moderate earthquake occurred about 15 miles southwest of Plattsburgh, New York at 4:50 AM MDT today, Apr 20, 2002 (6:50 AM EDT in New York). A PRELIMINARY MAGNITUDE OF 5.1 WAS COMPUTED FOR THIS EARTHQUAKE. The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available. The earthquake was felt from Buffalo, New York to Boston, Massachusetts and Baltimore, Maryland. No reports of damage or casualties have been received at this time. Listening to:
